His great-great-grandfather served as a surgeon during the Civil War. His father, an OB/GYN in a small South Georgia town, died at 38 when Michael was ten, and his example led Michael into medicine. Michael grew up partly overseas, in Saudi Arabia and South America, and spent two years at Asheville School in North Carolina before college. In 1996 Michael opened his own OB/GYN practice in Naples, Florida. That same dedication to patients drives everything he builds today.
